Not that I’m planning on replacing the Volvo any time soon. But the thing I don’t like about it is just how easy the power is. It’s nice for city driving and merging and such, but it’s no where near as fun as the Integra. Although the suspension is much stiffer than I was expecting. It still just doesn’t handle like the ‘Teggy.
So are there any sedans that kind of have Miata/Integra like power and handling qualities?
My best guess would be maybe an older 3 series or even M3, but I’ve never driven one; so I have no idea really.

Add a big ass rear sway bar and you will change the way it handles. For about $200 and thirty minutes it will be a lot better.

I haven’t driven the sedan, but the e30 coupe is fantastically Miata like.

I’ve been told e30s are particularly dreamy.

True my bro in law did this on his MK4 TDI and it made a world of difference

E36's have good handling, and the powers okay. Theres a large aftermarket for them and their cheap.(a fake m3 bumper was $130 last I checked) A manual 325i is the one to get if I’m not mistaken, it’s the straight 6. The interior is better than mercedes of the era but that’s not saying much.

The rear sway bar in my C30 is stiff enough to keep a rear wheel off the ground when I turn into a driveway. It’s a huge improvement over stock. The lowering springs help too.

It’s exactly the same. I really can’t tell the difference between them from the steering wheel without looking back to count doors.
The convertible is not the same.

The Mazda Protege, especially in MP3 guise.
It got some handling goodies from Racing Beat, a nice flip-up head unit, and a revised intake and exhaust. It’s the mid-point between a regular 2.0L Protege and the turbocharged Mazdaspeed Protege. However, all three suffer from glass diffs but they’re open and it’s an excuse to drop in a Quaife LSD. They apparently handle like 4-door Miatas.
The Protege also comes in wagon form as the Protege5.

E30 or E36. 318i (M42, not M10) for the E30 and 325i/328i for E36 have the best balance of power and handling. I prefer the straight six in the E30, but a lot of other people I know prefer the M42 since it’s lighter

You had one but it was a maintenance nightmare.

I’ve been looking at e30 coupes lately. I also checked out a pristine E46 M3. A couple mechanic-special E36 M3's... An e34 M5 that literally got purchased as I was leaving... Definitely not looking for a floppy convertible
I guess I’m BMW-curious. Hopefully job things work out and I’ll be able to swapped the Outback for something more interesting

The four door Integra?

I’d really like to drive a good one someday. I test drive one once and it was a complete turd. I’m pretty sure it was running on 4 or 5 cylinders

Similar experiance: I drove one 4 hours home with a blown head gasket, fixed the gasket and seized the motor on the test drive. It was roached and i drove it twice but it’s not hard to see the potential a good one might have.

Came here for this. The RX-8 is basically a Lotus Elise Estate

Too rare and ugly. Hatch is the only proper Integra.
